Five musicians, a glaciologist and an ecologist have created an algorithmic processing engine which transform the annual trends of the Trentino glaciers into sound. Through a forecast model developed at MUSE it is possible to follow the process of evolution of glaciers from 2020 to 2101. 

“Il Pianto del Ghiaccio” was born from the desire of MUSE and Conservatorio Bonporti to activate exchange projects and exchange of knowledge to renew the dialogue with its audiences on the challenges of contemporary life. 

The installation can be enjoyed within an immersive sound space of Palazzo delle Albere. The work proposes a present and future look on the condition of our glaciers, emphasizing the distressing dissolution.
